The Right to Information Act, 2005 is a landmark legislation enacted by the Government of India to promote transparency, accountability, and openness in the working of every public authority. Under the provisions of this Act, any citizen of India can request information from a public authority, which is required to respond within a stipulated time frame. This Act not only strengthens the democratic framework by enabling informed participation by citizens but also acts as a powerful tool to combat corruption and improve governance at all levels.

As a responsible public body, the Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board (HPKVIB) is fully committed to upholding the spirit and mandate of the RTI Act, 2005. We recognize the importance of proactive disclosure and timely response to information requests as key pillars of transparent administration. The Board endeavors to provide access to accurate, reliable, and comprehensive information to the public, unless exempted under the provisions of the Act.

To ensure effective implementation of RTI within the organization, HPKVIB has designated Public Information Officers (PIOs) and Appellate Authorities as per the statutory guidelines. We also encourage the use of digital platforms for easier access to information, thus facilitating a more informed and empowered citizenry.
